Hey, after seen the previews for Spider-man 3 a few times (and being a big fan of the previous two) i can't help but think will this one go downhill? why? well, because why are they having Sandman the killer of Uncle Ben.

That's totally lame. The first two fit together so well....I'm going to be seriously upset if the third one tries cramming to many plots and characters in. Really.."Sandman?" What kind of name is that?

I think Spider-Man 3 looks like it's going to be great.

I believe what they're going to do is show that the Sandman character is the one who killed Uncle Ben, and his partner is the one Peter chased in the first movie.

It will make for interesting choices for Peter - he felt guilt about being responsible for the robber's death in Spider-Man, and also guilt about being happy he was dead. This will mean he'll have conflict over an innocent man dying, and a desire for revenge against the real killer.

But then Harry is trying to get revenge for his father's death - so Peter is also the object of a vendetta.

And then there will be Venom, who'll be an example of what Spider-Man would be like if he weren't a decent person like Peter.

I think three villains - a true baddie, a former friend and someone just like him - will make this one the best of all!

I'm going to have to agree with everyone here. It's so Spiderman will have to seek revenge while succumbing to the "dark side." I'm sure the writers are following a storyline in the comics where the Sandman turns out to be Uncle Ben's real killer. I think they have been considerably loyal to the franchise, they wouldn't compromise that. I have been a fan of spiderman since I was a little kid. I never read the comics, but I watched the cartoon and the Spiderman movies have only increased my fandom. I only hope that this third installment measures and meshes well with the others. I'm interested to see how the writers managed so many subplots, (3 villians--Sandman, Vemon, Harry--remember he turns in this one, the ongoing relationships between Peter and MJ and the introduction of Gwen!) it is a hefty load! I'm crossing my fingers that it surpassing all my expectations.

Yeah it's a total motive of vengeance.
If you ask me, viewers would be surprised to see him as Sandman, and hence will rouse hatred against his character on a whole.
Plus, Venom adds a new twist to the tale, for the first time when Spidey has to fight two villians at once and save MJ from someone else

ALthough the 3rd movie have its twist and turn (fyi: in the comic series, his uncle was not killed by sandman). I don't think it will go downhill. The trailer is awesome! There's Venom ( what makes spidey comics and games famous) in the 3rd installment. I personally think spidey 2 sucks.

I see what they're doing - to motivate Peter into Revenge - to visit a dark emotion and be tempted into 'the dark side'... makes for a good story and a great launch for Venom.

But it does "undo" the death of Uncle Ben as we'd been told up to this point. Too bad they couldn't have found a way to motivate Peter's slip along the dark path another way...

If memory serves, this is staying pretty close to the comic book.
The main part of this story very likely will be the conflict between Harry Oswald (Green Goblin) and Peter Parker.
No matter what, this will be darn good entertainment.

It's so stupid. We saw the dude get away in his Uncle's car. I'm sure they'll make something up for it, but it's still stupid. I will go watch it anyway, and probably love it, but I'm still gonna complain!
