Does anyone know anything about it, how hard is it to acquire fiance visa's and how required are fiance visas. and what would happen if i just went to vegas and had a simple marriage.

im obviously not very well informed, can anyone tell me anything about citizenship through marriage? even just a simple little marriage with no ceremony

Heres the catch, i really really love my bf, but i want to wait on marriage, but hes a british citizen and im a us citizen, i just want to be able to live with him and hold up a life together thats more stable, but still go on with our daily lives. we plan to have an actual ceremony when were ready though

(i deleted my old post because i messed it up while i was adding detail to it, so no offense to the people who already posted) answers

Dont go with the fiancee visa. Being a british citizen he can come over here on the visa waiver program where he can stay for 90 days as long as he doesnt work. While here you should get married in city hall (you can have a proper ceremony later) and then make an appilication for his green card based on the fact that he is married to a US citizen. For him to get the green card though, you must sign an affadavit of support. you must be able to prove that you can support him financially until he is legally able to accept employment.
Once married the forms you need are:

I -130 - Petition for alien relative
G325a -biographic information
I-485 - Application to adjust status
I-765 - application for employment authorization
I-864 - Affadavit of support

You can download all these forms from uscis.gov website.

Along with the forms are step by step instructions on how to fill them out and what documentation you need to attach with each form, such as copies of marriage and birth certs. you will need to enclose copies of your W2's, passport photos of you and him, copies of his passport and entry to US. He will need to get a medical from a civil surgeon.
Its very involved, if you can afford one you should hire an immigration attorney to take care of it for you.
good luck

Before you talk about citizenship, the first thing is for the non-US resident to be able to live here. That is either by work visa or green card from marriage. The US Immigration is more lenient towards friendly countries like the UK than others. Immigration has the right not to let someone stay in this country if he has no legitimate reason to do so, such as work or being married.

So it boils down to carrying out a legitimate marriage and then go to Immigration to change his status to greencard, which by itself there is a wait time but probably not long for UK (not sure). An immigration attorney can take care of that.

It's hard and INS security is really making no mistakes.
Your better of waiting for VISA!
