They are so annoying...
but gmail is pretty good at blocking them. But still, they always say the wierest things.
And how comes up with them?

Spam is typically used for 2 purposes, marketing and spreading viruses.

Any organization that uses spam to market is suspect at best.

Spam - Unsolicited Commercial Email used to be a major advertising method when the Internet was fairly new. It was felt to be similar to the commercial advertisements you get in your regular mail box each week.

Spam soon evolved into a method of sending not only advertisements but also malicious code.

Commercial spammers still send out advertisements and are paid for the service! They can be paid according to the number of total emails they send or by the number of persons read those emails and explore the offers in the advertising.

How does your email address get onto a spammer's list? Oe way is that you entered your email address into an online form at some website who makes money from selling email addresses to spammers. Another way is similar, you sign onto a group, forum, or other type of site. If the site does not properly protect your email address it will be visible on "members list" pages. An automated script can get this information easily. That is why my site is modified to not show member's email addresses.

Yahoo and other ISP companies or web portals allow for searches of their member directories and make the email addresses public! Again, it is an easy thing to automate the gathering of email addresses from member lists that don't hide that information.

So, keep the faith! Let your spam filter do its job. Never answer a spam email. Scan all attachments for malicious code, etc...

If your question started with "How", then I could've answered. Right now all I can say--"Why?"--"Cause some'of them think pple on the net are bunch of fools---so they can sell/advertise whatever they're emailing for. The rest of those spammers are just low life morons.
