XP has a "My Pictures Slideshow" screensaver built in.

To use personal pictures as a screen saver

Very Easy.
1. right click on your desktop and select properties
2.select the screen saver tab.
3.scroll down on the bar that appears in screen saver to where it says "my picture slideshow"
4. then select setting right next to the scroll bar
5. then select browse and find the folder that contains the picture you want to show on the slide show (if you dont have one create one) and remember where to locate it
6. press ok
7. press apply

Or . . . right click on your desktop . . . click on Properties from the menu that comes up . . . click on the Screen Saver tab . . . under the Screen Saver dropdown menu choose My Pictures Slideshow . . . click on Settings . . . click on Browse . . . click on the folder your pictures are in . . . click OK . . . click OK . . . click Apply . . . click OK

use free irfanview ( http://www.irfanview.com ) file menu > slideshow > select some pictures > save as EXE/SCR button and your done

The above will work with 98
