why is this bird used as a symbol?! i understand its a magical bird and that is from Saudi Arabia ..but i dont understand the use of it in many cultures..ancients and new?..even in the silly Harry Potter!!?!

It's a symbol of destruction and rebirth.

Take volcanos, for example. Volcanic soil is one of the most fertile soils in the world.

In some parts of Atlanta, there are pheonix' on the manhole covers, because Atlanta was burned but came back up from the ashes.

The phoenix died by fire and rose again in new life and as such is
used to represent new birth, new beginnings, Triump overcoming
failure and such
