Yes, definitely. That's why more and more things in the media are in English. Everyone likes hearing the English language, even in soap operas in tv (they also seem to like Balikbayans in tv's a lot, you know "Sana'y Maulit Muli"?). Some people would rather buy something imported. People in the upper strata of society look down on the Filipino language. They think it's the language for slaves or something. That alone can prove that colonial mentality still loom in the Philippines. Another thing, most people don;t have a care about Filipino culture. Many of the youth today would laugh at it. And many people are desperate to migrate to another country.

I think this is only a question for filipino's but I will answer anyway.
Since I have close ties in the philippines, I observed that filipino
society have mixed views about foreigners, the U.S. A and their Government.
I know that they want to be a country who stand on their own 2 feet and rise up like Japan and China.

not having divorce interior the Philippines isn't something nicely worth bragging. To me it somewhat is a shame. such dissimilar persons are separated yet could not get loose legally. i'm for divorce. i don't be attentive to why people in simple terms can't settle for the actuality that persons do substitute and marriages disintegrate. There somewhat isn't any such element as till demise do us section. people in simple terms tolerate one yet another at terrific. It basically happens in movies. genuine existence is diverse.
