They can put all the labels they want on them just as long as they don't put a fat tax or sin tax on them, a lot of states have and it is wrong, just as wrong as the cigarette tax.

Which Amendment gives us the "freedom of choice"? I'm not familiar with that one. Where were you when they put warning labels on alcohol and cigarettes? Yes, it's the first step towards a fast food tax, which is the first step towards forcing you to stop eating it. Welcome to the club. If you don't like it, I suggest you start researching the Libertarian Party.

A warning label is not a ban, you can eat all you want. Rat poison for example. The warning label tells you what will happen if you eat it, it doesn't stop you.

This differs from a ban on say, trans-fats, that will kill you, just not as fast as rat poison. In this case, the government is stopping you from eating them by not allowing their use in food processing.

(BTW - I was only using the Rat Poison to illustrate the difference between a warning and a ban, nothing more)

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. If a Big Mac makes you happy no one should tell you "you can't have it. If it makes you happy it makes me happy. I think the argument is the cost in Health care and obesity. Better is the counter argument that the Government should not be that intrusive. Funny how the Libs want to tell us what we can put in our stomachs, but when we say that the baby in theirs is a live human being they tell us it's pro choice.

Putting a waning label on food does nothing to our freedoms. If they were to place special taxes or other restrictions, that would be an infringement.

try living in a few other countries for awhile and comelive in america and see what freedoms we have lost.

heck, i can't even paint my house the color i want! or even get my roof repaired after a storm without paying $35 for a permit.

and the list goes on and on, ever try to walk down the street with a beer? you can't in america but no problem in most other places.

When the smoking bans started years ago, I tried to tell people that there would be more and probably cholesterol, weight, foods... Everyone thought it wasn't something to be concerned about. Now they are getting nervous.
Believe me, they aren't done. I predict that medical costs/insurance/employment/gov. programs etc will be effected by ones weight or cholesterol or both.

How on earth does getting information take away your freedom of choice? Please please please add details explaining your thinking on that, because I'm missing the connection big time. It sounds like the propaganda the food industry started putting out, but what does it mean?

This reminds me of when you tell women how superior human milk is to formula and how day care is very very damaging to children and they pretend that you have done something terrible by passing on information that makes them feel badly about their choices, whereas it's perfectly okay for them to make these choices that are so bad for their children.

The government and these wackos that think they know best need to keep their noses OUT of my life!

I will eat, smoke ,drink, think and state my opinions, whether they are PC or not and I dare anyone to try to stop me.

I fought for this right and will exercise this right at any time or place!

I think if people want to eat fatty food they can.-NO GOVT INTERFERENCE
I think if people want to have an abortion, gov't should stay out.
I think if Walmart doesn't want a Labor Union - gov't should not be backing Labor Unions that want to come in a company & tell them how to run it.
