Has anyone ever worked with script consultants like Script Shark or Film Literary Group? What is their deal? Any positive or negative feedback?

First off, make sure they know what they are talking about. If you are scripting a legal thriller, you want not just a legal expert, but a legal expert where the story is set. If you are doing a crime story, consult retired cops. A film set in a school would require an educator for a consultant. If your movie is set in the past, make sure the events referenced match the dates.

Next read all contracts before signing. Have a lawyer help you if you get confused by the wording used.

I've worked with consultants and their primary concern is whether your script is marketable. The overall story content is important of course, but they focus on formatting, structure, pacing and character development. It's worth it to pay for this service at least once. You'll get a better sense of how to write future scripts.
