I am new to Linux and just started using Ubuntu. I just got a USB D-Link wireless network adapter so that i can connect to my wireless network with it. Ubuntu is recognizing the hardware, but i can not use the internet on it for some reason. I am pretty shure my network settings are fine, what can i do to use the net form it so that i can download more programs for it in the packet manager.

Thanks

Ubuntu has a problem with pppoe with some people. If you check the forums you will see tons of people posting about this.
I got so hacked off with it that I switched to pclinuxos http://www.pclinuxos.com/page.php?6
My wife's laptop also has it installed now. Her wireless connection was recognised from the start and was up and running from the live-cd before the install was even done.
