you have to make the bottoms equal so you would change both to 28 so to convert 4/7 to ?/28 you would fiqure out what the bottom would be-how many times does 7 go into 28 the answer 4.then multiply the top times 4 and you have 16/28 which you can then add or subtract because the denominators match 16/28 + 3/28= 19/28 or 4/7 when put in lowest terms.

ok its simple. FIrst off, the denominator (in this case 7 and 28) you have to change the fractions to were they will have like denominators. SO you think what number can u mulitply 7 by and 28 to get the same number? in this case your lucky. 4x7=28. So you multiply the whole fraction (4/7)x4 which equals 16/28. so 16/28 plus 3/28 equals 19/28. Thats the answer! GOOD LUCK!
