Whenever i think of Surat flood of 07/08/2006, it brings tears to my eyes.It was really a nightmare for us.

I was in Surat at the time of flood and a lot happened at that time:

I am the president of Jain Social Group, hence 4 of our members including myself, went here and their in our areas Piplod(mine), Parlepoint, Nanpura and ring road to help people by giving food packets, fresh drinking water pouches to poor and needy poople.

One incident happened in our building. An aged man about 75 years old who is suffering with some disease got an attack of breathing. His wife had medicine out of stock. She came to me for help.at that time below our building there was 6 feet water. She gave me the name of medicine.I went to a doctor who is staying half a kilometers away from our building.it took me 30 minutes to cover the distance by walking.I went to his place and got the medicing tightly packed in plastics so that it does not get wet and rushed to the patient.and it helped him.

In our building there was heavy shortage of drinking water on 9th August.I went with some of my other people to Bhattar area on a boat and brought drinking water, milk packets and edibles for us.

After the flood, our group went here and there to a lot of places distributing food packets, clothes etc.We also gave moderate donations to the needful.
It was really a bad experience.
I pray to god that such thing should not happen to Surat or anybody in the world.
