I've tried pressing the right shift key 5 times, as has been suggested, but nothing happens. I've also tried using Micrsoft help, but it tells me 2 go under keyboard (in the cntrl panel) & there shoud be an option 2 turn sticky keys on or off, but it isnt there. I'm having 2 use my online keyboard, because when i try 2 type on my real keyboard, the letters either come up 2 or 3 times (instead of just 1x) or some of them wont work @ all. The # keys wont work (& nmbr lock is on) It was suggesd that the sticky key function may have accidentally been turned on. I'd appreciate any other, honest, possible resolutions. I've already tried system restore & re-installing the keyboard's drivers

Check under the "Accesibility Options" control panel.

Hmm... That does not seem to be Sticky keys, or the other Accessibility stuff. Try borrowing a different keyboard, changing batteries if it's a wireless one, using the PS2 connector instead of USB, etc.

You can try disabling all the Accessibility things, just to be sure. Go to Control Panel --> Accessibility Options --> and go into each option and remove all checkmarks. (If you cannot find it, switch to "classic view").

I hate those options so much... One time I fell asleep holding the Shift key and the Filter keys option activated, made an horrendous sound trough the PC speaker (even when audio was set at mute) and almost gave me a heart attack. Now I always modify a file that allows me to completely remove it. >:)

Hi. The right shift key pressed 5 times should open a window confirming that the sticky keys can be activated, as you tried. I would next try uninstalling the keyboard from control panel, then rebooting and allow Windows to install the drivers again. New keyboards are cheap, but I hate mysteries. Anything get spilled on it? Are you OK with disassembling it? Not that hard.

You should try the Windows Accessibility Wizard, it is designed to activate these kind of functions.

Start > Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > Accessibility Wizard.
