my dad has always had a really bad temper, yells at me a few times a day and calls me f'in b*tch, f'you and garbage, scum. he is always arguing with my mom too. one moment he is fine and the next he explodes over small things like coming to dinner 10 minutes later, leaving a plate out or even throwing something in the garbage can. he makes me feel so depressed and upset and i'm scared because his anger could pop at any minute. he does not even admit he a problem so counselling prob wont work. i cannot avoid him when we're under the same roof. i dont know where i can go?

Talk to other adults in your life about his behavior and your fear for your personal safety. Talk to teachers, school counselors, your coach, clergy.
Also, there are Domestic Abuse hot-lines in your local phone book. Call them. Those people are there to help you.
If your dad threatens or physically hurts you, call the police. You will not be over-reacting so don't be scared. Threats committing acts of physical harm is against the law and the police will act on protecting you.

I wish I could give you a hug right now. What your dad is putting you through is unacceptable behavior. I agree you should seek some professional advice. Is there a teacher at school or an adult, maybe a close friends' parent that you could talk to? There are support groups too that are out there but I don't know where you live. I'm sure your school counselor could help you w/that too. I'm sorry for what you're going through. Growing up my dad was an alcoholic and used to beat my older brothers and my mom but w/me he didn't..instead he made me feel stupid. A lot of my depression comes from that I think but I never got help, I hope you do, it'll make you feel so much better to talk to someone. Please don't think that he can't get help tho. It's a long process and ppl w/those kinds of problems never think they have one..sometimes it takes someone to get hurt for them to realize. It did for my dad....he went thru the AA program, he's sober now and we're better off. But don't let it get to that point, let someone know what's going on.

Please just talk to someone ok? You don't have to be afraid and wonder when he's going to snap, there are ppl that can help you.

I hope things get better soon.

I also think you need to talk to a teacher / school counsel, Your dad has a very serious problem and it won't get any better if he doesn't seek medical help. Do him and you and your mom a favor and tell someone.Good Luck
