i think they get married to get out of their house and also b/c they cant take care of themselves, which irks me. i have a g/f right now, 32 years old...was married at around 23, lived at home until that time, and then got married...now she is going thru a divorce and is back living with her parents . She has never had to stand on her own two feet, daddy took care of her until the hubby came along and now she's back with mommy and daddy and daddy is still handling all her business.

I'm 20. My husband is 23. I got married when I was 18. My husband and I have been together for 4 years on Valentines Day and our 2 year wedding anniversary is coming up! I will not say it's been easy. It's been a struggle financially but we've done it and we've done it on our own without any help. We have come so far in life and in love. We've made mistakes together and learned from them together we are still growing in every apsect of our lives. I couldn't imagine not having him. He's my rock. He's my hero! Were we to young to get married? We don't think so.

I don't know is 27 early?
It was not that long ago about 600 years past when 27 was the life expectancy of a woman, and 25 for men.
Trust me it not early at all.

I got married at 17 because I knew that my husband was the one for me. I knew what I wanted in my life. Now I'm happily married with a son, and I've never been happier.
Some people do it for money, some so they can escape their parents homes. Some do it so they can stop feeling guilty about having sex outside of marriage. Some do it because they want ot seem "grown up."
But there are those of us who do it because we know that it's right, and that it's wonderful. =D
Good enough?

Lol intersting question. I want to get married and I am 20. And I want kids. It sucks though I cannot get married until I am 27, verge of 28, med school. Cannot be finanically dependent on a man. Arggh I want kids too, so cute.

I got married at 19 mostly because I was so in love with the idea of being young and getting married and stupid enough to think it would last forever. It also got me out underneath my father;s controlling thumb.

As a guy over 35 and available to date, I get frustrated because it seems like every woman who needs to be with a guy just gets one, then complains about the bad draw.
If women waited longer, there's guys who are either coming out of bad relationships or (like me) waited into their 30's before marrying to establish a career and travel. Why the rush indeed?
