If everythign in the universe is made of strings and they are all (except for gravitons) attached to "our brane" then what is the brane made of?

Mathematically the brane IS our 4 dimensional world. So i would say space-time.

One of the newer brane theories is that our universe is a 4 dimensional projection of a higher 5 dimensional space, connected by a 'bulk' field in between. Gravitons are localized nearer to the 5D brane, and the probability curve for them occuring is fairly low near our 4D brane, which is one possible explaination for why gravity is so much weaker than the other forces. Since they occur less frequently near our brane, the force is felt less strongly than the others.
The 3 others, electromagnetic, strong and weak nuclear forces, are products of, and reside, on our brane, which is why they are so strong.

anyway, i started rambling...sorry.
