I can't count the number of times I have done it and I'm still here. In fact I have never known of anyone personally who has gotten zapped. I think it's an urban legend.

Good Question!

Me thinks that all is grounded but I wonder?

Have done so (quickly) on many an occasion but always feel insecure about doing so. (Hey, if I have to get to work, I have to get to work, ya' know)?

I imagine it is best not to do so if you can help it!
