I'm pregnant for the first time. My nipples have gotten bigger and darker. Will they stay that way after I give birth or return to normal? Serious answers only please!

Yes, once the hormones of pregnacy have left your system, most of the pregnancy changes reverse. I can't remember how long it took my breasts to go back to "normal." The nipples and areola are back to prepregnancy color and size even though I'm still nursing my 18 month old.

Your nipples will return to their normal size and color.Your breast will increase in size during your prgnancy ..usually after pregnancy ( breast feeding) they return to their normal size.Remember that during pregnancy your body is going through many changes.Try not to worry about the changes, your body is equipped to endure all these changes.Be certain to get plenty of rest, eat a healthy diet and walk or light exercise each day,and keep away from stress.,you will do just fine.

They may lighten some and not be quite so large as they are now or when you are breastfeeding (if you do), but they will still most likely stay bigger and darker than they were before. Mine went down some, but never as small or light as they were before although my breasts did stay slightly fuller. They were never quite as high as they were before either, but is is a small price to pay for my children.

Everything I read says they will stay that way. I really wish they wouldn't though, for some reason the new color and other changes really bother me. I miss the way my boobs use to look, light in color and well lets just say a little higher up. I guess that's life though. The things we do for our children. :)

I see some people say they will return to normal. I guess it all depends on your body b/c mine never went back to to normal! I had my daugther 3 years ago, and my nipples are still big and dark. =( (better for breast feeding i guess!)

It very likely that they will stay discolored. Nipples often darken during and after a pregnancy.

mine were never the same. They may not be as big after you stop breastfeeding but i doubt they will go back to exactly what they were before.
