can anyone tell me if Acer laptops are any good. Acer AS5610?

I FOUND AN ACER AS5610 FOR 698 AND WANTING TO KNOW IF IT IS WORTH ITS MONEY AND IF ACER IS A GOOD LAPTOP

Acer laptops are pretty much the bottom of the barrel. The price is attractive because of the cheap components.
Dell is offering some pretty sweet deals on laptops right now.

My friend just bought an Acer laptop for around the same price and the hard drive went out in about 5 days. Now he is having a hard time dealing with Acer on getting a new one, they are being very rude and acting like they don't wanna fix it. Not to say that will happen to you though.
