the tanning beds i have always gotten in have uva lights that give off purple-ish blue-ish color..but the one i went into today was just just the color of a regular light and didnt give off any color. i still got tan but i was just wondering if it meant the lights were better or what.

As far as I know, the colours don't mean anything. They just colour it purple to give people the idea that it's UVA or UVB.

As a more serious side note (you probably hear this all the time), you really shouldn't tan. Not even for skin cancer reasons or any crap like that, but because it'll give you wrinkles and make you look leathery and old in a couple of years.

UVA rays are stored in your skin for years after it's been affected, and while you get a tan (a tan is a signal that your skin is damaged and trying to avoid being ruined, so it tans as a result. It is "natural", but not natural to force it with tanning beds).
