P1345 Camshaft to Crankshaft Position Correlation Fault :
This code is typically set because the camshaft sensor is not properly synchronized with the crankshaft sensor. Wiring and/or connector faults with either the camshaft or crankshaft sensors can set this code. A sensor tester or multimeter can be used to verify that a proper signal is reaching the engine computer. If the distributor has been removed and not reset or reinstalled properly, use a scan tool to monitor the "Cam Counts" and set them as close to zero as possible by adjusting or repositioning the distributor.

Possible distributor gear wear, or someone possibly attempted to adjust ignition timing. A code P1345 usually means that the distributor is not in the correct position.

It may be a sign your timing chain sprockets are worn or the actual chain is loose or stretched. There are adjusters for slack in the chain sets. If things get really bad and a chain sprocket fails you will bend your valves and you wish you'd have it looked at NOW.

It might just be a bad sensor or something like that. The engine in it is probably the 5.7L 350cid. Those engines are almost bullet proof. I personaly doubt it is mechanical rather than electrical.

The cam shaft position sensor is a magnetic pick up. I would replace it first. It is on front of engine and tricky to get to. It reads the cam gear and tells computer when to fire spark to which cylinder. You may want to take it to ashop to fix it.
