My car wont turn over, so I had my starter tested and they said it was bad. So I replaced it with a tested one from a junk yard, but the car still wont turn over. I'm wondering if I got the wiring right, because i cant remember which chord went to which part of the starter. The thick black rubber line, is that negative? because it only fits on where the book says positive. There are 2 places to connect wires to right next to each other, and the book doesnt help. one of the wires comes from the starter itself. Any help would be appreciated.

The big black wire is positive and it hooks to the connection further away from the starter motor. You may have noticed the other lug and nut has a copper piece going in to the starter itself.
The negative is the body of the motor. ( no wire )

dead battery direct short if wires are reversed recharge battery undo wires find the hot wire put it where it goes. the neg wire fastens to the starter bolts that holds starter in place for a good ground.
