How is it possible for EBAY sellers to sell their items for so much lower than what they are worth on the retail market? Does EBAY simply provide a place for thieves to sell stolen merchandise freely ? Is EBAY helping to create a marketplace for stolen items?

Most of the low priced items are that way because the seller buys in bulk. And actually that is really the only profitable way to sell on ebay. They may spend a few hundred dollars (or more) on merchandise at a wholesale value, sell each item for half it's retail price, and still make profit.

I suppose. Some are legitimate companies getting their items for whole sale. Others are home sellers with home businesses or sell as a hobby.

I raise plants and sell some that I've propagated. But I supposed people could even steal and sell those.

People are capable of anything.
