I would like to make a duplicate of the hard drive on my laptop. What's the easiest and cheapest way to do this?
Thanks--

Get a USB hard drive and copying software so you can run the files off that hard Drive

are you looking to clone the hard drive? (these options keep file systems intact)
as for cost... answer this question first "what are your files worth to you? - remember, you get what you pay for"

Farstone Drive Clone
Norton Ghost
Miray HD clone
Acronis True Image

are you looking to migrate data to a separate drive? (transfer folders or just individual files) - usually requires reinstallation of programs unless you export registry keys

-windows file and settings wizard
-copy and paste (make sure to change file access permissions)

google hard drive clone, hard drive image, etc.

buy an external hard drive. Copy everything to this external hard drive.

you can find a computer person and ask them to ghost it over to your other harddrive or you can try and copy everything over to a external hard drive.
