Ok I have been doing this for a week, I need to know how much sewing machines went for back in 1855 to 1920. I have looked all over including Sears and Roebuck. Does anyone have relatives that are about 100 years old that can help answer that question?

Also if anyone can come up with something that doesn't require me to use money to look at the entire thing or get an account or membership.

i have a 1917 singer that originally cost about 20 dollars, its one that has a wooden table with 4 drawers in it and a treddle on the bottom and it has lots of little gadgets with it, and would you believe i got it for 25 dollars when i bought it about 15 years ago, if you are lucky you can still find rare shops that sell the bobbins to fit them and the round leather belt that drives them at the bottom, i had to replace a belt and i got two extra bobbins. Its really fun to sew with it too. You could get a small one in a round top case that had a hand crank, their version of a portable machine for about ten dollars back when, when i was in wales i bought one for 18 dollars that was about six years ago, but i left it with a friend because the cost to ship it home was almost 100 dollars, cast iron is really heavy.

Well the didn't "costed" anything. "Costed" is not a term in any sense.

If you are really need to know the cost of a sewing machine in 1855 google "sewing machnie price 1855" or "1855 cost of sewing machine"

Go to your public library and ask if they have achives of old Sears, Eatons, or Bay catalogues. You can photocopy the pages to document the prices. That is what I did to find out the original price of the pump organ I inherited from my grandma. I knew they had bought it from the Eatons catalogue and what year it was, so off I went and now have proper documentation to have it insured. Good luck!!
