what do u mean by printed visa ?
if u mean a copy of the visa issued , yes its enough . actually that is also not required to entre UAE.
now a days electronic Visas r issued , for which the original is not required . not even a copy is requied. u need a copy just to prove to airline of ur visa availabitlity so u can board the plane .
on arrival once ur pasport is scanned atimmigration they automatically know thru immigration department link that a visa has been applied and approved for u .and u r stamped in .

It depends on your nationality. If you belong to a nationality which can not obtain a visa up on arrival, you need your visa needs to obtained by your sponsor in the UAE and be deposited at the Immiration Department at the airport 1 hour prior your arrival. Then your passport will be stamped.
If you can get a visa up on arrival you will receive the stamp right away and do not need any extras.

Btw. No one can enter the UAE without a valid passport and your passport should be valid 6 months beyond your stay.

i visited there a number of years ago under special privilege -- no passport, no visa
