If you are talking a minature pot belly- they are very clean and can be house trained. I know of one that grunted at the door when it had to go to the bathroom and also had a litter box in the house. Even the outside potbellies we had were neat- always pooped in one corner.

Food: depends on the pig, but most need 1 cup of potbelly pig diet AM and PM along with some fruits and veggies- no corn on the cob though because they will choke. We usually take a medium dog dish, put the cup of pellets in, and then fill it up with a banana (they need a lot of potassium in their diet) romaine lettuce, carrots, strawberries, grapes, etc.

They also can be trained to walk on a leash, and most easily learn their names. Most are also sweet and love to be scratched. They usually have dry skin problems, so you may need to oil them or use some type of skin treatment.

I used to have a pot bellied pig,. She was huge! But she was soooooooooooo sweet. They are messy when they eat, No more then a dog I would say. They are extremely smart also. About food, yes they eat alot, but it shouldn't brake you. I always went to the bread store like Flowers, and would tell them I needed lots of bread for my pig (her name was Piggy) and they would have a big 30 gallon bag of bread, honey buns, cake, etc waiting for her. It was usually free because it was bread that was outdated and they had to throw away anyway, But it didn't mean it was stale , it was still very good. Also dinner scraps or lunch and breakfast leftovers are also good. So really I thought owning a pig was the best pet I ever had. The only reason I had to sale her was because we had to move. Hope this helped.

we raise pigs, not as pets, but for meat.
They are messy, they are loud (and sometimes obnoxious and potentially dangerous because they can and do knock you over and trample), and they take a LOT to feed them. They do NOT stay small and 'cute' very long.
Now, if you are asking about a potbelly pig, heck, get online and look for groups, they'll tell you everything. I do knowthey need shelter, and lots of water, and a dry place to sleep and be comfy. I've known many a potbelly pig pets(no,NEVER to eat) and they are like dogs, really.

well actually my neighbors have a pot-belly pig, and i alwayz take care of it wen they r gone. did u want a pot-belly or a big one? well for any pig they will eat as much as u give em but do not over feed them. i give their pig a cup of pellets(the special kind made for pigs) twice a day and then it eats watever it wants in the yard. and if u are going to keep it outside, it may eat ur plants and so on. they tend to bring in branches, leaves, dirt, and anything else they can find to make a nest, which is completely normal but may get messy. u can train them to do all kinds of stuff. and if it is an indoor one then u want to get it as young as possible, becuz u have to train it, let it get to know u, and let it see its new home. it may also tend to get grumpy though, and they may grunt or scream, which sometimes happens wen u pick em up, so if it does that wen u pick them up dont put it down until it stops or else they will learn that all they have to do is scream to get u to put it down. and u need to make sure they know u r the boss and not them! it may also try to get in ur cabinets so if it does put mouse traps there, which will hurt but it will teach them not to get into ur stuff, and after a while u can put the traps there but not set them and it wont know the difference!

Hmm... you might want to seriously consider this before going through. Although any animal is a resposibility, pigs are especially so. It will need quite a bit of space, and be warned... they begin to smell especially bad, and even worse if you clean their stall infrequently. They may be cute as piglets, but can grow to the size of large dogs or larger, and are really not worth your time unless you plan to sell them when they grow large. They also squeal a lot when handled, so don't assume that you will be able to play and cuddle it like a kitten.

Congradulations if you take up the responsibility, but it might be tough! :)

Pigs are like dogs in nature but can be litter trained like cats, there very clean, just raise them like you would a dog. you can teach them tricks, sit shake and so on, but the beautiful thing about them thay will go in a box. you don't even hafto open the door to let them out.
