well, x over x should jus equal x? for example, if x=3? 15 plus 3 over 3 is 1? so it would b 15 over x equals 12 over 4. 12x over 60 which means x=5?

Get rid of the denominators by multiplying through by them.
(15 + x)/x = 12/4
Reduce first:
(15 + x)/x = 3
Now multiply both sides by x:
15 + x = 3x
and solve from there. Remember - the fact that you had x in the denominator to start means that x cannot be 0. It won't happen here, but if 0 had turned up as an answer, it would have to be rejected.

12/4=3 so, 15+x/x=3 multiply by x to move the x over to the right
15+x= 3x subtract x from both sides
15=2x divide by 2
x= 15/2

15+x/x = 12/4
~ 12 divided by 4 equals 3.
15+x/x = 3
~ You multiply "x" on both sides.
15+x = 3x
~ You subtract 1x on both sides.
15 = 2x
15/2 = x
7.5 = x

(15+x)/x = 12/4
(15+x)/x = 3
(15+x) = 3x
15 = 3x - x
15 = 2x
x = 15/2 = 7 1/2

(15+x)/x = (12/4)
12/4 = 3
15+x / x =3
15/x + 1 = 3
15/x = 2
15 = 2x
x = 7.5
I'm not sure if that's right but try it.

i got x=15/2
there are a lot of ways to do it. multiply both sides by x and you'll get 15+x=12x/4
then multiply by 4 and you'll get 60 +4x=12x
then subtract 4x from each side, and youll get 60=8x
divide both sides by 8 and you'll get 15/2 aka 7.5
