No, Jet Li wasn't the son of Bruce Lee. No one actually knows how Bruce Lee died. Some say it was because of a stroke or something. He died after he fell into a coma, supposedly.
The rumors ranged from Lee being killed by Hong Kong triads (gangsters) because he refused to pay them protection money - ?something that was common for Chinese movie stars to do at that time ?to his being killed by an angry martial artist's dim mak (death touch) strike. Some people claimed Lee was cursed?he had just bought a house in Hong Kong that was supposed to be haunted?or that he had died while mking love to actress Betty Tingpei, or that he had angered the Chinese martial arts community by teaching foreigners, and that he had been killed in a challenge match.

Bruce Lee had a pounding headache. Bruce took a friend's prescription medicine, and had an allergic reaction to it that killed him. I heard a great quote from the new movie 'Bigger, Stronger, Faster', and that is, "There is no such thing as a safe precription drug... that is a drug that is safe for everyone." Bruce Lee was addicted to working out, and Chuck Norris recounted in his first autobiography, that Bruce's unwillingness to slow down and rest may have aggravated the side effects of the medicine Bruce took which ultimately led to his demise. The lesson here is to never take someone else's prescription drugs. You may not get a second chance to use better judgement.

On July 20, 1973, Lee was in Hong Kong, due to have dinner with former James Bond star George Lazenby, with whom he intended to make a film. According to Lee's wife Linda, Lee met producer Raymond Chow at 2 P.M. at home to discuss the making of the movie Game of Death. They worked until 4 P.M. and then drove together to the home of Lee's collegue Betty Ting Pei, a Taiwanese actress who was to have a leading role in the film. The three went over the script at her home, and then Chow left to attend a dinner meeting.
A short time later, Lee complained of a headache, and Ting Pei gave him an analgesic. At around 7:30 P.M., he laid down for a nap. After Lee did not turn up for the dinner, Chow came to the apartment but could not wake Lee up. A doctor was summoned, who spent ten minutes attempting to revive him before sending him by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. However, Lee was dead by the time he reached the hospital. There was no visible external injury; however, his brain had swollen considerably, from 1,400 to 1,575 grams (13%). Lee was thirty-two years old. On October 15, 2005, Chow stated in an interview that Lee was allergic to Equagesic. When the doctors announced Bruce Lee's death officially, it was coined as "Death by Misadventure."
Another theory is he died from allergic reaction to marijuana, which he was consuming at the time in hashish form.[3]. This is controversial, but it is confirmed that they did find traces of the substance during his autopsy.
However, the exact details of Lee's death are controversial. Bruce Lee's iconic status and unusual death at a young age led many people to develop many theories about Lee's death. Such theories about his death included murder involving the triads, a curse on Lee and his family, etc. The theory of the curse carried over to Lee's son Brandon Lee , also an actor, who died 20 years after his father in a bizarre accident while filming The Crow, somehow a actual bullet had got into the gun used to shoot him during the movie, they never figured out if it was done on purpose or done by mistake and none was ever arrested .

Bruce Lee
(born Nov. 27, 1940, San Francisco, Calif., U.S. — died July 20, 1973, Hong Kong) U.S. film actor. The son of a touring Chinese opera star, he spent his childhood in Hong Kong, where he acted in several movies. He returned to the U.S., and in 1966 he landed a role in the television series The Green Hornet. In the early 1970s he became a popular star of martial-arts action films, including Fist of Fury (1972) and Enter the Dragon (1973), which gained an international cult following. His career was cut short by his sudden death at 33 from a brain edema suffered after taking a pain killer. Nevertheless, his films remained popular and became widely imitated. His son Brandon Lee (1965-1993) was emerging as an action-movie star when he died in a shooting accident on a movie set.
What is brain edema?
Brain edema is an excess accumulation of water in the intra- and/or extracellular spaces of the brain. Edema can occur as the result of many things, including head injury, allergic reaction, stroke, acute liver disease, cardiac arrest or from the lack of proper altitude acclimatization.
Symptoms of cerebral edema include headaches, decreased level of consciousness, loss of eyesight, hallucinations, psychotic behavior, memory loss and coma. If left untreated, it can lead to death - Bruce Lee's death is a famous example.
