Currenly no. Most games for PS3 come out on Xbox 360, too. GTA IV will come out on Xbox 360 first.

Then the Playstation store: If you download something, then your PS3 is occupied with downloading stuff. If you buy something from the Xbox Marketplace, you can pop in a game and play while the download progresses.

Regarding Blue Ray and HD DVD and DVD:
BlueRay is the High Definition Format for Sony. HD DVD is also a movie Disc for High definition content. A DVD is a "normal" movie disc, with standard definition resolution.

As the DVD has lower resolution I won't put it in the format war discussion.

Regarding Blue Ray and HD DVD: Retailers hate to have to double their store space for movies, if a movie is released on HD-DVD and Blue Ray, since one system will not work on another.

So in case the BlueRay format wins, the Xbox can buy a BlueRay license and sell a BlueRay Addon for Xbox as they are doing with a HD-DVD addon.

If HD DVD wins, then you will have a nice $600 BlueRay player sitting next to the Betamax VCR in the cellar.

Blu-ray and HD-DVD are just 2 formats competing to be the HD format of the future. Sony supports Blu-ray, while Toshiba supports HD-DVD.

The PS3 is worth getting, but I think you should take your own advice and wait until later this year when GTA IV comes out. Here's why:

1. There aren't that many good games that are available only on the PS3 right now.

2. Now that Sony and Immersion have settled their lawsuit, you can expect the Sixaxis controller to become a Dual Shock Sixaxis controller in the near future. Sony and Immersion have said that they're already working together to make the rumble workable on the Sixaxis.

I still think the PS3 getting bugs are quite rare, and I think a lot of the reports that are posted on here are made up by 360 and Wii fanboys.

Yes, the playstation 3 has the highest graphic capabilities, blu ray, blue tooth wireless controllers, it's a full media center, and has the best hard ware of any console. The playstation 3 has the cell broadband processor, which is 7 synergistic cores which are possible of calculating 2 trillion calculations per second, and that means bigger, more complicated games, with the best graphics ever, not to mention the RSX reality synthesizer and the motion sensing 6 axis wireless controllers, it really is worth it, especially with

blu ray, which can hold over 20 times the size of an hd dvd, 100 gigabytes, and that means more graphically sophisticated games because of the massive space to use on the disc -that's what's different about blu ray discs

It depends, I have all three new consoles. The Wii has some fun games but not the greatest graphics. The PS3 is a nice solid console but it is expensive and not many good games. The Xbox 360 has the best games and online but it is a poorly made system that breaks down alot, I have had to send 2 in for repairs in the last year.

Really it is up to you because it is a lot of money but have you ever heared of a blue ray player? well to buy a new lue ray player it would cost about $1000. But a ps3 has a blue ray already instaled and a ps3 will cost about $500 so that is half price for a blue ray plus you can play games on it so yeh i think its worth it mate!

SO VERY WORTH GETTING! Look at it this way: you get two things for a very low price; a video gaming console, and a Blu-Ray disc reader. Look up Blu-Ray players...see how much they go for and then look at the PS3 price
