There are a lot of factors that go into being happy. Happiness is genetically predisposed. Happiness can be found in all sorts of places. I get happy when I look up at the blue sky and take in a some air. It feels great just to be alive!

I don't want to sound like a preacher, but have you made your peace with God? I mean that. Have you answered the question of whether he exists? Have you figure out what your purpose in life is? Do you go out of your way to help others?

I think that you need a goal in your life: whether it is tutoring kids after school or finding yourself a life partner. You have to figure out what it is that you need to put a smile on your face.

I wish you the best of luck! :)

Everyone is 'here' for a reason. You have a purpose. In fact, Robert Byrne noted that "the purpose of life is a life of purpose". Most people are unhappy. Usually this is a result of a subconscious recognition that they are wasting their life because they have not found (or are afraid to pursue) their purpose.

Find your passion in life. Find the thing that truly inspires you. Then figure out how to pursue your passion in a way that serves others. That is your life's purpose. That, and only that, will make you truly happy.

Hint: true purpose often involves things that scare you and/or make you angry. It may help you to start looking at these types of issues in your life - they may be the key to what truly inspires you.

Best wishes and good luck.

P.S. there are many excellent books on purpose and inspiration/passion. You may find it helpful to read a few.

Because this world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery. According to the Vedic knowledge (the original how too books sent by God how to do everything in this material world and how to get out of it. ) only one fourth of the souls come to the material world (the less intelligent ones, that's us)We are not these bodies, IE; race, color, nationality, religion, job, mind, intellect, senses, etc. We are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We have to reconnect with our Maker to actually be happy. The quickest and easiest way is to chant the Maha Mantra (the great mantra for deliverance from all suffering and illusion. For more info. go to harekrishnatemple.c Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada- tells the purpose of human life and how to be fully happy always. Sounds to me you are just an old soul ready for reality and tired of illusion.

You lack a real meaning in your life. There is a certain emptiness, a void that is not filled. This can be a direction, a real purpose that you are lacking. Learning the truth gives you happiness. The bible says, "Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need." E-mail me if you want to hear the truth contained in the bible (and no im not a religious-freak, and i dont believe in hellfire and all those things, in fact they are false doctrines according to the bible).

That's a great question - is there something bothering you? Are you satisfied with your career choices, or maybe something wrong in school.

There's nothing wrong with not being happy....if you're content with life, then that is fine. There's only a problem if you're sad.
