It's super concentrated birth control, it is going to make you sick. It shouldn't last more than a few days. Good Luck

It makes some people sick...it is NOT birth control. The morning after pill does not regulate your periods, it does not regulat ovulation and it does not prevent feritlzation of an egg, so don't pay attention to those who tell you it is a "concentrated form" or a "high dose of" birth control because they have no clue what they are talking about. The morning after pill was disigned for and DOES prevent the implantation of an ALREADY fertilized egg in the lining of the uterus. It generates a mini period that expells the uterine lining (and hopefully (?) the fertilized egg if it s about to or already has implanted. However IF the egg hasn't gotten down into the uterus by the time the morning after pill has been taken the fertilized egg will NOT be expelled and therefore will be able to attach to the lining of the uterus and you WILL be pregnant. The morning after pill is at best only 85% effective so when you take it you have to hope and pray you're not among the 15% it isn't going to work on.

It probably varies from person to person. It didn't bother me when I took it years and years ago. But I've taken different types of the birth-control pill and some of those have seriously screwed me up. It depends if you're a hormonal kind of person and how you cope with your periods and that kind of thing. If the slightest hormonal change makes you feel weepy or sick (like the days before your period) then the morning after pill will probably do the same but worse. If you cope well, you probably won't even notice.

Don't worry, the same thing happened to me when I took the morning after pill. The first one went down fine but the second made me sick as a dog. I would go back to the chemist and get another as you need to try and keep it down for at least a 4 hours to be sure it has had time to work. And don't be embarrassed to go to the Doctor you have nothing to be embarrassed about.

If you have a reaction to hormones in birth control pills, this may be why you got so ill (though I've been told morning after pills are awful either way). For future reference, use a backup method like a spermicidal insert in case the condom fails --which in my experience, is common. This time around you need to see a doc -- better sooner than later.

Really sick for about 24 hours. Take gravol. Mind you I took the combination pill, the new progesterone only ones are said to make you less sick.

However getting an IUD is a WAY more effective method of emergency contraception (99% vs 75-85%)

I was nauseous for the rest of the day... I wouldn't recommend taking that pill more than once... It really messes with your system.

Yes. And you'll feel guilty for a long while too.
