He does have a family, but he's really neat and organized, and he never gets really angry at anyone. He has a son (who I'm friends with) and aan autistic daughter, and he is involved in the community in some questionable things. (ex: Garden club?) When I began Scouts, he was following me around. My parents say he cares for me, but I'm not sure if he cares a little TOO much. I feel kind of bad to cut down on him like this, because he's a nice guy, you know? Please help!

(P.S. He looks a lot like Borat.)

Who gives a rat's behind whether he is gay or not? Is he a good Scout leader? Is he a good father to your friend? Does he take good care of his daughter? THOSE things are important, not whether he's gay or not. If he works, is active in the community, has a family including a healthy son and a disabled daughter, he has a lot of balls in the air, and he HAS to stay organized, calm and structured. Gardening is more than likely a time for him to relax and think, only be for a little bit.

It seems to me that what you are really concerned about is whether he was attracted to you or not. If he was attracted to you when you were a boy scout, he'd be a pedophile, not gay (of course pedophiles can be gay, too, but I don't really think that's the point).

Chances are he was trying to do the best he could as a Scout leader, looking out for new scouts, and making sure you were doing ok. Particularly if he already knew you through his son.
Of course, if he was actually inappropriate, you need to discuss it with your parents, but if he never crossed any boundaries, I'd say leave it be, grow up, and appreciate the fact that you have adults in your life that cares about you.

The last thing this man needs is some kid running around spreading rumours based on the fact that he is "a little strange."

I don't know the man so I couldn't be sure. However, from what you have told us, he is not gay. Being in a garden club is not gay; it is merely associating with fellow gardeners like himself, period. (Most professional horticulturists are men, by the way.)

You have to be really careful here. Taking part in activities you assume to be feminine does not make a man gay.

Mud, you would be surprised at who is actually gay or bisexual around you, right there in your town, your place of worship, or within your own family. Oftentimes these non-straight fellows are overtly masculine and could very well be married.

You have every right (as a child) to be concerned about his over-interest in you. However, there too there is nothing in what you told us to indicate the man is gay or some sort of child abuser. In fact, from what you told us, the man is just the opposite of a child abuser -- he sounds like a caring, overprotective substitute parent.

Why think and judge him in such a bad manner?I dont think it is wise for you to judge him that way.Weigh him first before you jump to conclusion. It will be suicidal to mistake him for things he is not for.

He just might be peculiar. Quit scouts if it bothers you that much.
