Who is considered an icon, between 1st-14th century?

Erm what about Chirst? He could certainly be thought of as THE ultimate religious icon depicted in thousands of renderings from 1st-14th century and onwards. An icon is simply a picture or a sculpture of someone or something that is venerated.
