I am praying it's not a miscarriage, but I'm kind of think it is. Although my friend said she was pregnant and got a period flow as well for 4 days. I hope it's not a misscariage...what do you guys think.

It's definitly important to get to the ER. It could be nothing, but do not chance it. If it's nothing at least you have the reassurance everything is okay.

18 weeks pregnant.

Hey, I got a positive test but my period started anyway! Huh? Since some HPT's are so sensitive, they can detect a pregnancy in its very early stages. Unfortunately, it's estimated that up to 50% of pregnancies are lost very early on. In the past, most women did not even realize they were pregnant-- their periods would arrive on time, or perhaps a day or two late. Now, women testing very early may get a positive test, but experience bleeding almost immediately afterwards. This is an early miscarriage, also referred to as a "chemical pregnancy." It is likely that you did conceive and the embryo implanted for a short time before dying. This miscarriage is "disguised" as a period because the bleeding happens right around the time you would expect your period. Because this is so common, you probably have nothing to worry about, medically speaking, if it happens to you once or twice (although it is still heartbreaking when it happens!) If, however, this happens to you more than a couple times, or in consecutive pregnancies, you should discuss it with your doctor, as this can signal a problem (which can oftentimes be corrected with minimal treatment.)

That said, it is also possible to experience some spotting or bleeding and still have a healthy pregnancy, so don't panic! It may be implantation bleeding (from your baby snuggling in your uterus for a nice long stay!) If you experience bleeding after a positive pregnancy test, you should call your doctor.

It could be a miscarriage BUT 20% of all pregnancies have bleeding in the first Tri. and 50% of those are miscarriages..so it doesn't mean miscarriage for sure. Just so you know, I miscarried a week after I found out I was pregnant and I got pregnant again before my next period (they say to wait a cycle but I guess you are way more fertile after a miscarriage) so if you did in fact miscarry, there was nothing you could do and it only means that something went wrong with the development. More than 50% of first pregnancies are miscarried so you are not alone in any way. I hope that information helps.

It could go either way. Head to the doctors office. That is the only way to know for sure. I have had both things happen, a period while pregnant and a positive result on a pregnancy test and I lost the baby a few days later. Ended up having to get a D & C because I didn't expell all of the tissue. It is easier to just go to the doctor instead of speculate.

In most cases, that heavy bleeding does indicate a miscarriage; however there's always a chance that it was not. Test again in a few days to see if your levels are still high. I would also see your doctor; if you have RH negative blood, they may recommend the Rhogam shot - I know I got it when I had a miscarriage at five and a half weeks.

If it was a miscarriage, please know that early miscarriages are common, but do not indicate anything that you did wrong, or that your chances to have children are affected. Most likely your next pregnancy will be healthy and fine.

Sadly, this sounds like a miscarriage. The same thing happened to me about 6 yrs ago. I started to get nausea, tender breats, etc. Took a test at Planned Parenthood, came out posetive. Three days later I got a period. Take another test after your cycle is over to be sure. If still uncertain, go to a doctor.

Is your "period" over? if so, take another test. If not wait until it is and take a test. I know how exciting it is to take the test and get a positve, but I guess this is why were supposed to wait to take the ept. I didnt wait either, and I really hope for your sake that this is just a period, and the baby is all good. If not go see your doctor, they will need to check you out. Good Luck

See your doctor to get another test done. Let them know when you call what has happened so they can get you in sooner. Good luck.
