I think observe and enjoy. Observe the different ways people walk, talk to each other, and behave in public. I particularly enjoy sitting in an outside cafe, and noting the differences each country has. Just in the way the people interact with each other. A street scenes offers a myriad of opportunities to better understand the people that live in the area.
One of the reasons I love to travel, is simply seeing, watching, and meeting the people. I have been all over Europe, South and Central America, The Baltic, Pacific Islands, and of course, The United States. Every area is different. Sometimes subtle differences, sometimes major, but all interesting.
I'm itching to go this week the South East Asia and India. I expect I will learn quite a bit.

I do not look or spy i observe them. I look to see if they differ from me or if they have a common thread, if they look like someone i know. I often try to figure out where they are from. Yes i have too much time on my hands. I call it people watching. I do it discreetly --lilttle glances --yes a bunch of them heheheheh

No, as a matter of face, when i walk the dog at night I even look up at the stars so they don't thik I'm looking in their windows. Weird, huh?
