The hamster belonged to my nephew's kids
but they just moved to California and had to
leave the hamster behind, so my sister-in-law asked me to look up on the internet what they like to eat....

hamies eat pellets from the pet store. they love fresh veggies like lettuce and carrots BUT only a little piece each day along with the pellets to prevent the "runs" which can kill a hammy fast. they also enyot a little piece of apple once in a while...remember, tiny pieces once a day one veggie or fruit at a time:)

They will eat almost anything (broccoli, cheese, yogurt...) Their favourite foods are foods native to their dry habitat, like seeds, cereals, nuts, but make sure that it's natural seeds - no roasting or salt, and that the cereal isn't sugary.
they are not keen on citrus fruits or tomatoes
Feed them vegetables or fruit in small amounts to begin with and do not give them much lettuce as this can make them ill with diarrhoea.

bless, you will have lots of fun looking after him! win him over with hamster treats like cereal chew bars and yogurt drops.... he will become your friend very quickly! feed him a few tablespoons of his normal hamster food mix every day but incude a little fresh fruit or veg a day, but avoid citrus fruit as this is poisionus and lettuce as this causes upset tums. my gorgeous hammie Harry loves banannas, mushrooms, peas, sweetcorn brocolli, nuts like hazel nuts and walnuts to crack open ( very good for their teeth) cucumber, apples etc.. Most hamsters also like grapes, strawberries and carrots but he turns his nose up at these! Have lots of fun!!

i give them eat apples, lettuce, cabbage, carrot. Give them in small portion. No oily food allowed. They will get sick.

i gave my rabbit celery and the vet told me he choked on it so id be carfull what you feed him
