I would like to know who the Republican candidates are, but all I hear about Hilary and Obama. I've scarcely heard a word about a Republican candidate for '08. This frustrates me, and I'd like to hear (or read) your opinion on why it seems that Democratic candidates make into the news more often. I should mention that I do get some of my news from attending a public high school, if that has any bearing on it.

John McCain (Senator from Arizona) was considered the front-runner, but Rudy Giuliani (former mayor of New York City) seems to have overtaken him. Both are considered "too liberal" by many in the conservative base, particularly on social issues like abortion and gay marriage. Mitt Romney (former governor of Massachusetts) is the favorite of those farther right, though his views seem to have conveniently shifted rightward since he stepped down as governor of a liberal state. Democratic candidates get into the news more often probably because they are the opposition party and there's more drama there right now. Plus the whole thing with Hillary being possibly the first woman president and Obama being the first African American president, that's a pretty irresistible story for the journalists. Hope that helps.

Listen everybody else told you who is running the reason that the dems are getting so much press is cause the press is run by liberal people. Being in public school there are a few types of teachers. These are your democrat backers, first the ones that are old and disgruntled, second the ones that have had to many modern arts classes and the fresh ones out of school that have been brainwashed to believe every word there professors spoke these are your major group of teachers. Then you have your few that back up the republicans, these are the ones with common sense that actually use their brain not what the world has told them to think and believe. Use your brain and common sense vote for the man you believe will be best for the country not your mom and daddy's wallet.

It isn't only the 2 Democrates who are getting press, if you read the newspaper you will find that there is press on the Republican side, and it's not all that quiet. Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney have certainly thrown their hats into the ring and are being very clear about what they want for the future. perhaps it is that both Hillary and Obama just have better press agents and get them front page spots more often at this time. Also, as the Republicans are not the party that is all that popular at this time, thanks to our president, people are looking to the Democrates for help.

Giuliani former mayor of New York is the front runner right now.
John McCain, senator from Arizona is in for sure and my favorite.
the Dems are getting so much press because of their woman and black candidates. Hillary is very well known and Obama made a name for himself at the last Dem convention.
