Lots of World War 1 questions today (thank God one of my fav. topics!)

Okay first off some background. World War 1 was a war of attrition, to outlast your enemy. This meant to wait until your opponent runs out of food supplies, ammo, or soldiers. After years of fighting, each side was closer to running out. However, here comes the U.S. fresh with food, supplies, ammo, and men!

With fresh fresh supplies and men the Allies got in the lead until Germany said they give up. That's why the U.S. entering was so important. To the fact that they provided such great advantage to the Allies in a war of *attrition*.

After the war, however, America's goals were less severe towards Germany than Brittish's and France's were. Britain and France wanted Germany to give up land, war reparations, money, no standing army, give up oversea colonies, etc. Basically, wanted to put the war guilt on Germany. America, however, wanted peace and no tension between countries and wanted to create the League of Nations. Considering that America joined later in the war, they did not have bitter and so much hate towards the Germans as the other Allies did.

Hope that helps!

The U.S. entered the great war when the germans sank a ship which the U.S. claimed where only carrying passengers. The germans defended themselfs by say there was also weaponry on the ship being sent to the forces of the triple allince which were France, England, and Italy. The Germans were in fact right but never the less the states declared war upon Germany and all who called it there allie such as the Ottomens. The U.S. helped win the war because of higher tech weaponry and just because over all they were beter than the likes oof Germany and it's Kiaser.

The nations involved in the war were at a stand-still. The Germans knew America wouldn't enter on their side and so hoped to keep them nuetral. The reasons why America entered are an entire book unto themselves. The effect was that there was a clear victory, because the Americans tipped the balance. Because there was a victory rather than a negotiated peace, there were also losers, namely the Germans.
