Scientist have no idea as to how big they really get for they have not seen all of them nor even a small percentage.
That's a lot of water out there and a lot of it is very deep and we may know what some of the area looks like, we still are light years away from knowing about all it's critters.

Fishermen in New Zealand may have captured the largest Colossal squid ever recorded. It may be the first time a Colossal squid has been seen alive.
The beast, weighing 450 kilograms (990 pounds), was eating a Patagonian toothfish (Chilean sea bass) hooked by fishermen when it was captured in the deep, frigid waters in the Ross Sea near Antarctica. The squid was reported to be 10 meters (33 feet) in length and took more than two hours to land

One was recently caught alive whose main body was 30 feet long and the tentacles added about 40 more feet. They have been sighted at more than 60 feet long. There are things in the oceans that are awesome. Ocean Angelfish 60 foot in diameter, giant clams, the strange 'wide mouth' shark that feeds on plankton. Man has never seen THE biggest the oceans have. They go about their ocean life and are never seen by humans but on rare occasions by chance.
