I am interested in living in Vietnam, Can I buy a home and will the government allow me to stay longer than a 60 day visa. My wife is an american vietnamese. Where would I go for answers on these questions the Vietnamese or American Embassy. Will I need to do the groundwork before I plan to go.
Sould I consider keeping my money in the bank in the United States rather in a Vietnamese Bank or is the Vietnamese Banking safe if I want to withdroaw my money.

Yes yes Yes ,you will have no problem,i am English and live by the beach in Nha Trang.Bring your money with you,you get 9% interest for 12 months its very safe, you can buy or rent property and live on a fraction off what you do at home.Just buy a 1 month tourist visa, when you are here any decent travel agent will get it changed for a 6 month visa, then keep re-newing it,allthough you may be easily able to get a residence visa,i am not sure.
Try coming for a holiday to see if you like it.
