This is a work of speculative fiction = written in 1949 regarding the future of so called "Big Government" and what will happen if we continue to allow government to run our lives. Big Brother is watching.

Words have power. Those that master language have the power. In the book, the government continuously "dumbs down" the language in order to limit the population's ability to think. By continuously limiting the vocabulary of the population, people became unable to engage in the rational thought required to overthrow the government.

Now go actually ready the book instead of asking people to do your homework for you. You have no idea how important that book is.

At least, that's my favorite theme in the book.
