Since X is the negative and Y is the positive the two must equal positive ten, therefore any number that can be added to Y equals 10 would be X.
For example if I add negative 20 to a positive number it must equal ten. The question becomes what number when added to ten equals ten. That would have to be a negative.
-20 plus 10 = 10
X equals -20
Y = 10

I'm assuming that it needs to be put in y=mx+b (standard) form and graphed.
To put it in standard form add x to both sides and end up with y=x+10.
To graph this go up 10 numbers on the y-axis then do rise over run (in this case 1/1) so you're going up one square and to the right one or down one square and to the left one. Connect the points to form a line and label it y=x+10.

Okay, I think there's supposed to be a key, of what letter equals each.
For example, if X=1 and Y=11
Then, -1 + 11 = 10

X=5 and Y=5 the inverse of addition is subraction. subract 5 from 5 and 5 from 10. that = 5+5=10

Negative X =-20 and Y=10 so -20=10=10. It's pretty simple if you just think of it like that.

let x = - 10 and y is + 20 therefor, - 10 + 20 is equal to 10.

it equals 10.
-x+-y=10
theres an even amount of negaitves.
when theres an even amount it becomes positve.
so the x=5 and the y=5 also.

if you are solving for x then you have to subtract Y from both sides (-X=10-Y) now you must multiply each side by -1
(X=-10+Y) or (X=Y-10)
if you are solving for y then you have to add X to each side (Y=10+X)
