We may not have to put up with half the amount of them.

let's pay them what public servants used to receive.(NOTHING)one thing for sure we would not have to put up with elected public political idiots such as the Clinton's wanting your vote. Hillery tried to get her agenda through while Bill was in her office, for eight years. what has changed now ? charging the secret service $10,000 a month for housing out back pays their monthly mortgage. how many of you voters get $10,000 a month from the government.

Linda,

It sounds good, but ultimately the plan would fail.

1. How would one come up with the standards? There would be a lot of political infighting on this subject alone.

2. They really wouldn't care...most fill their pockets with $$ from special interest groups...and, as mentioned by another poster, they're generally not hurting for the pay to begin with.

3. If WE don't pay them, someone WILL. Granted, it already happens, but as it stands now, at least we can hold them accountable.
