I really do not like a guy that I met and I didn't know how to turn him down then. I didn't want to hurt his feelings and I let things go way too far. I feel horrible I mean he is a nice person but just not for me. How do I let him go without hurting him before things go even further?

Just explain to him that you consider him a friend and that you like things the way they are between you 2 and tell him that his friendship cares too much to you to ruin it with a relationship, or something like that!
Be soft and nice so you don't hurt his feelings too much

Tell him the truth. The first time I fell in love, she did not feel the same way. She looked me in the eye and told me the truth. 18 years later, I am still happy she told me the truth. Broke my heart and took me 4 years to get over her, but she was TRUTHFUL!!

you just tell him. sorry, i just don't feel like we are meant to be together. your a nice guy but i don't feel for you what you would want in a girlfriend.
