I really don't understand why so many teams want him. He's got a career 69.2 passer rating for crying out loud! Can someone please explain to me why anybody would want this bum?

In regards to a post further up the chain....
Schaub has shown that he can win games? when? He has thrown more than 3 passes in 8 games in his brief career. In those games, Atlanta is 1-7. The lone win saw Schaub go 5/14 for 39 yards, so obviously they didnt win because of him.

Everyone got stroked about this guy when he performed well against NE a couple seasons ago. What they dont realize is that NE had the 32nd ranked pass defense at the time.

Check out these numbers. These were all consecutive games
Brees - 19-24 258 2 TD's
Schaub - 18-34 298 3 TD's
Plummer - 17-24 262 2 TD's
Holcomb - 20-33 263 1 TD
Manning - 28-37 321 3 TD's
Frerotte - 25-47 360 2 TD's
Brooks - 27-50 343 2 TD's
Trent Green - 19-26 323 1 TD

That's right, Kelly Holcomb, Gus Frerotte, and Aaron Brooks all lit up the Patriots secondary just like Schaub did. I dont see anyone busting down their doors trying to get them as their starting QB.

Schaub is majorly over-rated!

He's a good in the pocket QB and hasn't been given the opportunity to reach his potential because the Falcons have so much invested in Michael Vick.

If you would look at the stats you'd see he has an overrall 69 passer rating because the most passing attempts he's even had in a season is 64. In that season he had a 98 passer rating. An average starting QB averages about 450-500 pass attempts in season. So his passer rating is like basing his stats on 2 games out of a whole season. Isn't a good evaluator of his talent when he didn't play that much.

I think if he gets picked up by a team with a good QB coach or pair him with a good veteran QB, who is willing to help develop him (he's only in his 3rd season) then he becomes a high quality QB. You have to remember, he's had Michael Vick to learn from and that's not saying much.

I look for the Falcons to keep Schaub. Petrino is expecting Vick to pass more and with better consistency. If he doesn't live up to that Schaub will get some PT.

Because he is a prototype stand in the pocket QB, that everyone is trying to get. If Atlanta was smart they'd shop him now when teams are watering at the mouth... Maybe some stupid team will come along and drop a ton or picks or players for a guy who has proven nothing... A "HERSHAL WALKER" deal. Damn did the Cowboys get the best of that deal; = 3 Championships!! At least he was proven, unlike the respect Schaub gets... TRADE HIM! Get a reciever, offensive line help...Something!!!

Matt has shown he can win games, I agree with the fact that he still has a lot to prove....but It's not like Atlanta has a great receiving corps. The big thing about him is that he is still young and he has potential. He shows poise in the pocket and he has a cannon for an arm.

Everthing will depend on where he goes, he will get a chance to start for someone. Now it depends on if the team he goes to needs to be rebuilt, or if the team already has asome key players in place. This will be his key to sucess, otherwise he could wind up like a Tim Rattay or Chris Redman. -Playbookcritic

That's something I have also been trying to figure out. I don't think very much of Mike Vick but I haven't seen anything that tells me Schaub is a better option.

Because Michael Vick is a glorified running back and matt schaub is a qb

He always does good in the preseason. He hasn't got much of a chance to prove himself in the regular season yet, but teams like the potential he shows in the preseason.

I've been debating with some of these fools on here about Nash! I totally agree with you about Steve Nash being white worked in his favor. For the last 2 years I've been yelling racism about that mvp award......... You most definitley going to get best answer. But I'm going to keep my post up for a couple more days to see what these fools are going to say about it. I constantly prove them wrong but no one wants to fes up. Anyways, thanks for being open & most importantly a REALIST!
