I've been using Zyrtec for months but I had my last pill yesterday and I forgot to buy new ones and I think I'm dying right now cuz it's itching so much. And it's 4 AM so I can't go anywhere to buy Zyrtec, I have to wait for another 4 HOURS!! I saw a document about pills years ago and I remember they said something like the pills actually don't give ur body anything to strengthen its defence but they give your body something to weaken its defence, just so your body doesn't react so much to sum other things. So I've just taken some other pills (panadol extra) wishing that my body would really stop reacting so much to the dust or whatever it is that my body is allergic to. Do you think that was good or wat I did was stupid?? Because I couldn't take it anymore, i thought I was going crazy.

benadryl works best at stopping the itch. it blocks histamine, which is the chemical that causes your body to react to allergens (dust, cat hair, etc)

take 1-2 of the 25mg tablets every 6 hours as needed but no more than 4 doses in 24 hours. it will make you sleepy.

you can also try soaking in an oatmeal bath. put 1 cup of oatmeal (either the instant kind or old fashioned kind) in a blender to blend it into a fine powder. mix this in with your warm bath water.

Taking Panadol is perfectly OK for this (but also depends on how much you have taken) I wouldn't bother about Zyrtec, i find it does little to help. You may need to get a referral from your doctor to go and see a Dermatologist about your condition

Benadryl helps stop itching and will help you sleep too. Oh be sure and read on your information packet on Zyrtec to make sure you can take Benadryl.
