ABC is reporting that the U.S. just got fresh leads in the hunt for Bin Laden and is rushing resources into Pakistan to join in the hunt. Should this have been reported? Aren't there some things that the media should voluntarily hold off on reporting, especially when it involves the potential capture of one of America's greatest enemies?

Also, just a side thought, but should this leak be investigated as thoroughly as the Plame leak? Why or why not?

I now convene the assembly of arm-chair generals. Ahem..
I am sure this is old news to the foot soldiers on the ground in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The so-called friendly forces of the Pakistan army are filled with Bin Laden supporters and others who are simply willing to hand out tactical info for a quick buck.

Furthermore, strategic movement of forces is an extremely difficult thing to cover up. For example, suppose that American camps in Afghanistan start tripling their orders for toilet paper. Any dimwit supply clerk can guess something's up.

Has progress been made over the past 5 years? At minimum, the allied high command has been weaned off it's addiction to high tech satellites. A satellite does provide a ton of info, yet it cannot plug into the jungle grapevine. Only the good old footsoldier can interact face to face with the locals.

I do not know why ABC does some of the things they do. I think they should have kept this info to themselves until they catch Bin Laden.
As to the second part of your question it would probably be a good thing if it was investigated, but I do not think they will.

At this point, I think that if Bin Laden were sleeping next to George Bush, we still wouldn't catch him.

its all a game. their probably doing this to see if there is going to be some out of the ordinary movement to relocate him. and that way they maybe able to catch him. that's my thought.

Are you sure it was supposed to be kept secret?
