It is good to put a mirror next to his tank from time to time but do not leave it there all the time. This helps exercise the fish and can be quite comical to watch as he puffs up and thinks he needs to fight the other fish. I obtained this information from my local fish store that carry many exotic fish and have owned thier pet store for many years.

It makes him think of there is yet another male betta interior the replicate. He fluffs up and could become agitated, and could attempt to stress the rival away. it rather is a exceedingly demonstrate, and grants him some exercising, yet do no longer bypass away the replicate there for greater desirable than perhaps 5 minutes. he will placed on himself down and particular injure himself in any different case. there is not any injury in a quick demonstrate, yet those fish can combat to the death interior the real worldwide, and his instincts will stress him to the two stress the different betta away, kill it, or die attempting. for the reason which you administration the rival, he will kill himself interior the attempt in case you bypass away it there too long. do no longer placed the replicate interior the water, basically carry it as much as the glass, he will see it fantastic. yet do no longer bypass away it there for an prolonged time.

Putting a betta in front of a mirror can really stress him out. Sure it can be fun a couple times but try not to do it much more than that. Stress believe it or not can be really harmful to fish.

No problem whatsoever. Flaring is good for them a few times a day. They enjoy it, and they know it's not another fish, most of the time. Instead of keeping a mirror there all day long, you could let him see it for about 15-30 minutes a day.

By nature, beta fish are aggressive. You have to separate
him from other fish and move the mirror. I wouldn't think that keeping him in an aggressive state for entertainment would be good for him.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Your beta will be constantly flared up and eventualy die of stress. Go to any fish store where betas are held and notice there is a divider between the containers so that they cannot see eachother. You may not beleive me but go ask any experienced beta owner. Fish dont like to get stressed it can cause disease like ich and make them die.

Accually, its good for the betta (to much leds to stress). Also, you can tell if its sick if it doesn't flare. But don't leave the mirror there. Only about 3-5 min. intervals.
