The first thing that popped into my head is the point of living is to spend as many moments as earthly possible in a state of happiness.

I have found that to very simple. It is not complicated as some people would make you think. An imminent scholar wrote about ti many many years ago. Since then many volumes have been written it has been discussed, cussed and examined. The pros and cons have been batted about to the point that the whole question seems to have been borne of itself. A lot like the hero in Platoon born of the two fathers represented by Barnes and Elias, however I doubt the wisdom of that analogy. Because the simplicity of the who decries any need for metaphysics or even introspection.

To be frank I think having seen Debbie T and eaten Schwanns Rocky Road Ice Cream, I have seen the meaning of life.

as in, why am I here? or what is the purpose? The miracle of the Spark of Life is a question without an answer. How it starts (or when) and how it ends, and for religious reasons, what happens after, is something we may never know. For what ever reason we are fortunate enough to be given Life, we should cherish every moment of it. You only have one chance and too many people find no meaning to there lives and end up wasting it. What is the point of living......because thats what we do. peace J

Lets face it , we all are afraid to stop our living, the fear of the unknown , if we knew it was worse for sure ,no one would want to die , but if we knew for sure it was better , it would be an exodus of people dying . Now that aside many of us can see the point ,specially when our lives go smoothly with joys and not much bothers us , but when some one has received a live full of hassles and misery and find it irrelevant to live, then the fear is a very good reason to continue on, but many will tackle the fear and go to the other side .

1) To worship and praise the Lord

2) Help others do the same + acts of mercy

3) Find your soulmate and help each other reach spiritual enlightenment OR go to Vocation in the Church (priesthood etc)

4) Do your part to "make the world a better place". Leave here with the Earth better than when you arrived.

5) Have good clean fun, enjoy life and what you've been blessed with. Enjoy nature and other natural gifts.

Wow, sounds awful drab around here.

My point of living is to try to conform myself to the likeness of Jesus Christ as best I can, because that is Gods purpose for all man kind as stated verbatim in the bible.

I believe it through faith. Its a life long challenge that is way over my head, and it is a transcendent cause bigger that myself.

I do it by studying the bible and then applying what I learn. The more I read the more amazing the book becomes, every time I pick it up I learn something new about how to live or about the nature of God. Its all about putting others before myself, especially my family.

Personally, i think that the point of living is to percieve the world and appreciate all of its beauty, because if there was no life, then there would be no awareness.....and so it is because there is life that there is a point to all existance.

It is our responsibility to exist and make sure that there are future generations, or else everything will be dead

but keep in mind everyone will die, so don't take life too seriously, you'll always be part of this amazing universe

The point of living is to enjoy this wonderful creation in all it`s diversity. That should do you for a few thousand lifetimes and by then it is time to start all over again, just like painting the Lion`s Gate bridge, only a different color.

There is no point to living, It was not your choice to be here.....But since you ARE here, make the most of it, Have Fun, Have Love, Have learning experiences good and bad, enjoy nature and children and animals. Make yourself comfortable and contribute to your journey through life.
Remember, it comes to an end, and you have no choice in that either, You only get to choose how you handle the in between part.

That's a good question. I think we have life so that we experience everything there is. I know I'm wording this kinda funny. We live so we can gain knowledge, emotions, and a better understanding of others. We are also here 2 innovate new ideas.

I hope this answers your question!
