Yes.

My sister-in-law and I have both experienced this. She experienced it because of the way the baby was pushing against the top of the placenta, towards her ribs.

I had it because of the the pressure from the way I was carrying.

If you're truly worried, call your OB's office and talk to a nurse.

Yeah - the baby is probably starting it's kickboxing practice. Seriously though, sometimes the baby will kick you in the ribs, or stretch out sideways, etc. As I remember, starting at about 7 months, everything starts to ache and hurt a bit. Weird aches in weird places. Your bones are starting to stretch apart in preparation for birth because relaxin in being emitted in your body - and it makes everything loosen up, not just your pelvis. Wait till the baby turns around - that's a fun one!
Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy and enjoy the new baby!!

Yes, the baby is starting to take up a lot of room and your ribs are starting to spread apart. It may also give you back pain in the future. Good Luck. It will be over soon and you will have a wonderful child. It will all be worth it.

Ohhh honey, Welcome to the wonderful world of being a mother! See, it started with nausea, then you get those rib cage pains commonly known as, 'baby kicking!' But it gets better... Soon, he/she might even get in there just right and its hard to breath! Soon you will have labor pains and then the finally! CHILD BIRTH!! lol
It hurts and its the begining of many many other pains to come but in its own special way... Its all worth it all the time!
Hang in there babe!
